4 Revolutionary Gymnastics Techniques Inspired by Simone Biles

The Biles on Floor

A double back with a half twist is Biles's hallmark maneuver. She started doing it in 2013, and it was dubbed after her after her World Championships performance.

Her second tumbling pass in this routine. In typical Biles form, she keeps pushing it harder and has improved her tumbling pass. She gave the Biles a front layout at the 2019 GK US Classic.

The Biles II on Floor

Biles's second floor skill is named. She warmed up with the triple-double (two flips and three twists in a tucked posture) before the 2019 GK US Classic but completed it in competition for the first time at the 2019 US Gymnastics Championships.

It was named after her when she landed it in the 2019 World Gymnastics Championships qualifying round. This video shows her whole World Championships routine, starting with the Biles II Tumbling Pass.

The Biles on Beam

Biles performed this beam dismount, a double-twisting double backflip, on the first night of the 2019 US Gymnastics Championships. It was added to her Code of Points after landing it in the 2019 Worlds qualification round.

The Biles on Vault

The first vault skill with Biles's name is a springboard roundoff and half turn onto the vault with two full twists. Biles debuted it in the USA Gymnastics 2018 World Team Selection Camp and at the 2018 Worlds, where it was named after her.
