Baked Mac And Cheese Recipe Learn under Expert Guide

– 2½ cups elbow macaroni  – 4 tablespoons butter – 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour – ½ teaspoon salt – ¼ teaspoon pepper – 3 cups milk  – 2 cups provolone cheese  – 4 cups sharp cheddar cheese – 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce – ½ teaspoon smoked paprika


Heat the oven to 350°F. Drain and set aside macaroni after boiling it per the box.


While the pasta cooks, melt butter in a large oven-proof pan or Dutch oven over medium heat.   


After melting the butter, whisk in the flour and fry for 1–2 minutes until gently browned. Flour will no longer taste raw.   


Whisk in salt and pepper. Add milk and stir to remove lumps. Add it all at once or slowly, whisking vigorously until smooth.  


Whisk in half of the cheddar cheese and the provolone cheese until smooth.  


Mix thoroughly after adding the Worcestershire sauce. Check for seasoning and make any required adjustments.  


Simmer the sauce over medium-high heat for approximately 5 minutes, or until it begins to thicken and boil. Switch off the heating source.  


Add cooked macaroni to skillet and mix. Sprinkle leftover cheddar cheese and smoked paprika on top.  


Bake the skillet for 15 minutes until the top browns and the sauce bubbles. Serve warm.
